Welcome To The Pansy List!

What is this all about?

The Pansy List is a list of people who have verifiably decried, denounced or otherwise disparaged the U.S. presence in Iraq.

What does someone have to say to get on the list?

While there is no single statement that qualifies someone for a position in the annals of pansiness, the following are examples that will assuredly do so...

The U.S. should get out of Iraq."

(Note: The word "Iraq" may be replaced with the name of any nation or unincorporated territory.)

The principle of this qualifying statement is that of ignorance to the lesson learned by Americans on December 7, 1941. To those unfamiliar with this date, it is the day the Japanese launched an unprovoked attack on U.S. military personnel and civilians at Pearl Harbor. To those unfamiliar with the lesson, it is that which taught Americans they cannot safely continue to live with their heads in the sand. This lesson taught Americans they cannot remain ignorant of international events; they must be involved in everybody's business, lest everybody be allowed to threaten the sovereignty of the United States. Should Japan have had access to nuclear weapons in 1941, the United States would not exist today.

Coincidentally, this lesson was retaught to Americans on September 11, 2001.

Iraq was better off with Saddam Hussein."

The principle of this qualifying statement is that of ignorance to the fact that Americans have a moral responsibility to oppose tyranny in any form. If Americans are willing to compromise with tyrannies for their own safety, they themselves will become a tyranny. Tyrannical despots, dictators, governments, and regimes of any flavor must be opposed.

I support the troops, but I do not support the mission."

The principle of this qualifying statement is failure to acknowledge U.S. military personnel make an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." To "bear true faith and allegiance to the same." And that they "will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me."

Essentially, U.S. military personnel vow, at risk of their lives, to accomplish any mission set forth by the President. They believe the safety of the nation depends upon their willingness to do so. A soldier and his mission are indelibly linked. Therefore, to denounce one is to denounce the other.

Iran, Syria, and other middle eastern countries must help stabilize Iraq.

The principle of this statement is that of ignorance to the United States' role in the world. Quite simply, the United States has a duty to protect its interests without compromise. America represents the hopes and dreams of every person living under tyrannical rule. Imagine if an individual living under an oppressive regime such as Iran learned the United States were making a deal with their oppressors. The U.S. would be complicit in their oppression.

To these people I say, be not ashamed of who you are. As Lincoln told us in his Cooper Union address: Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it.

I know someone who should be on the list!

Go nominate them.

All nominations are moderated and only added to the list after verification of the offending statement. In the meantime, here are a few pointers for dealing with pansies...

Keep your distance! There's no telling what kind of whackiness a true pansy is capable of. While most pansies are known for making fools of themselves, some have been known to lash out and clobber people with chairs.

You would be ill advised to converse, procreate or otherwise socialize a suspected pansy.

For the definitive guide on this subject, review Ann Coulter's book, How To Talk To A Liberal (If You Must).

I'm on the list! What do I do?

Remain calm.

We understand your situation and are here to help. The first thing to do, being the intellectual that we all know you are, is to remember that you are a thinking individual. Remember that regardless of what anyone says, you can think for yourself. Remember this, and it will save your life.

As you struggle to save yourself from the cold, swift river of Liberalism, you will become lost or confused. When this happens, first and foremost remain calm. Anger will only waste energy you need to pull yourself from the river. Again, remember, you are a thinker.

Ready? Here we go.

The problem with Liberals is not that they know so much, it's that they know so much that isn't so.

Remain calm! Think. Think. Don't forget, you're an intellectual. Count to ten.

Let's continue.

You cannot enrich a poor man by stealing from a rich man.

If you try this, the only thing you will achieve is crime. Those who have wealth have it because they have diligently built it up over time. You must reject the trap that is jealousy. The rich man did not get rich by stealing from the poor man. Remember, stealing is a crime, and we have laws to deal with criminals. Rich people got rich by working hard and earning their wealth, not by stealing it.

Remain calm! Think. Think. Don't forget, you're an intellectual.

You, too, can become rich, but not by stealing. You can become rich in the same way that the rich man did. By earning wealth.

Holding up? Good. I'm proud of you. You're doing a great job!

No one is out to get you. This may come as a shock, but people are so busy with their own lives, they haven't enough time to think of you. When you realize you are not the center of attention, you will notice that you are free to do as you please. You could probably pick your nose and no one would fuss about it. If you continue to think anyone is out to get you, you will only fill your heart with fear, anger and hatred.

Remain calm! Think. Think. Don't forget, you're an intellectual.

Feeling alright? Good.

I know this is a lot to ask, but you've done so well. I'd like to ask that you listen to a speech. Not just any speech. A speech by Ronald Reagan.

REMAIN CALM! Don't forget, you're a thinker. If what he says really is wrong, you can think your way out of his logical arguments.

Anyway, the name of the speech is "A Time For Choosing." It was given by Mr. Reagan during the Presidential campaign season in 1964. The speech was given as an endorsement to Presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. Sadly, Mr. Goldwater did not win, but the principles of the speech survive.

Before I send you off to listen to the speech, I'd like to remind you one last time that you are a thinking individual. If you find yourself getting upset, fed up, or angry. Just stop, count to ten, and remember that if there's anything you disagree with, you're going to be okay, because you'll be able to reason your way out of it.

Now, be brave, and go listen to Ronald Reagan's 'A Time For Choosing'.

Knowledge is not what scares us. It's when we realize we're ignorant that we become scared.
