On 100th Day, Obama Honors Himself
...and continues to hide the truth.
Obama claimed this morning that he's doing everything he said he would. That might be true, if Obama's words weren't meant to confound voters. Obama's promises and actions are falsehoods.
When Obama says he inherited a $1.3 Trillion deficit, it's simply not true. His own budget shows Bush's last deficit at $459 Billion. In fact the deficit he claims he inherited includes Tarp 2, Stimulus and a $410 Billion Omnibus bill. These are all bills he signed into law, not George W. Bush. That he inherited the 2009 deficit is a bald-faced lie.
Obama has built upon this lie to claim he "will cut the deficit in half." He says this because he knows the American people appreciate a balanced budget. We do not want to grow our debt. But, when he says he will cut the deficit in half, he doesn't mean he is going to cut Bush's final $459 Billion in half. He means he will cut the $1.3 Trillion he "inherited" in half. That's $650 Billion. Obama is planning on carrying an $650 Billion deficit every year throughout his term.
When he tells you he's going to cut the deficit in half, don't believe it. He's actually going to increase the deficit over the Bush years.
Obama's smallest deficit is bigger than Bush's largest.
Don't you think when Obama says he will reduce the deficit, it should be less than any of Bush's deficits? At best, Obama is dishonest. At worst, he's lying to cover up the truth that he's expanding the role and scope of government to a level never before seen in America.
