Veteran's Day Not For Google

WorldNetDaily has the article:

The dominant search engine in the world marks special occasions including Halloween, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's birthday, the Persian New Year, the birthday of Percival Lowell, the Lunar New Year, the 250th birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Louis Braille's birthday - all celebrated already this year with special graphics and colors.

But for the 8th year in a row, Google has made no effort to commemorate any holiday honoring U.S. veterans or war dead - no tributes to Veterans Day or Memorial Day.

Google also celebrates:

  • Earth Day
  • World Water Day
  • National Teacher Day
  • International Women's Day
  • Bastille Day
  • La Fete de la Musique
  • St. George's Day
  • Korean Liberation Day
  • Holi
  • Shichi-go-san

See the full list here.

Given the diversity of Google's celebrations, it seems appropriate they also celebrate Veteran's Day. Instead, they spit in the face of the very people who won their freedom.

Shame on you, Google.

I want to hear or read Google's reasoning for this. It makes no sense to me.

Google's day will come at some point in the future.

Recall how corporations have been sued for collaborating with the Nazis or the slave trade.

Well, Google's collaboration, in censoring individuals, with the authorities in China could come back and haunt the corporation. If there is a day when China becomes more liberated, I hope some will use the legal system to make Google pay for its policies.
