The Republican Party Is
Given the recent fulfillment of congressinal leadership positions in the GOP, I'm reminded that a political party is just a vessel. It is not the expression of the people's beliefs that make up that party.
Let me clarify. A political party forms when a group of people agree it's mutually beneficial for them to work together and help each other throughout the political process. A political party does not form out of the Aether, nor is it organized in Heaven and sent down to Earth to rule over mankind.
A political party is merely an association between men with complimentary political ambitions. When those political ambitions no longer compliment each other, the party dies. That's not to say the beliefs of its former members die. Just that their beliefs, their passions and political desires, have diverged to a point where it no longer makes sense for them to ally.
When your allies cease to help you, they cease to be your allies.

Seems that not many Republicans understand the nature of their defeat in this past election and are doomed to repeat their mistakes. Pence at least would have offered a new direction to the party and new hope that they would at least begin to listen ... [Read More]
